  • Web Developer

    Location – New York City

    Essense Partners is looking for a skilled web developer to join our growing team. We are looking for someone with a portfolio of work that includes professionally built web properties that have been carefully coded from design templates. You will work across multiple platforms and be open to taking on new challenges as we expand beyond our core web properties into app and touchscreen development. Knowledge of all core web languages is essential, as well as an open mind to new approaches in the field.     Job Responsibilities

    • Create fully responsive websites from designs created with the Adobe Creative Suite and/or Sketch
    • Front and backend development work based around building custom themes for WordPress sites

    • Work on large scale custom builds of touchscreen devices, display screens, and kiosk applications
    • Help with general office IT duties such as network and server maintenance
    • Work closely with our design team to convert their endeavor into practical online portals for our client base

    Skills/Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years professional experience as a web developer
    • Strong front and backend development skills, including excellent knowledge of core web languages and database management systems – JS, HTML, CSS, SASS, GULP, PHP, and MySQL. Knowledge of Apache and Windows servers a plus
    • Working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks such as Gatsby, React, and/or Vue/Angular highly desired, as well as experience with GraphQL and Webpack
    • Experience building sites using a CMS such as WordPress and plugging into the REST API. Knowledge of Drupal and/or .NET/Sitecore frameworks a plus
    • Competency in turning designs built in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Sketch into responsive websites
    • Experience using a version control system such as git
    • Comfortable using the command line
